    Description

I have six souvenir programs from various events at famous frontier army posts which are now historic sites.  First is a program from the 125th anniversary of the founding of Fort Larned, KS, which took place in Oct. 1984.  Second is the dedication of a restored barracks at Fort Apache, in the White Mountain Apache Reservation from 1976.  Third is for an interpretive dinner at a restored officer's quarters at Fort Robinson, NE from some time in the 1970s.  Contains lots of info about the building and an application to attend the event.  Fourth is an event that was held for the dedication of a reproduction of a typical HQ at a Texas military post of the period at the Institute of Texan Cultures in San Antonio, sponsored by USAA.  I've attached a photo of the building, just FYI.  Fifth is a program from a seminar on the Military in the Southwest, held in 1975 at historic Fort Huachuca in southern Arizona.  It featured a headline list of military historians including Paul Scheips and William Bell, both senior historians, Dept. of the Army, Col. Herbert Hart, USMC, Dan Thrapp and Senator Barry Goldwater.  I wish I had had the presence of mind to get their autographs on this document at the time.  Last is from something called a "Military Pass to Fort Chickamauga" HQ 4th US Cavalry, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory.  I cannot remember anything about this, but it is dated July, 1977.
